Kyle Francis, MBA
Founder – President
After receiving his bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship and Professional Sales from Baylor University, Kyle completed the MBA program at the University of Colorado with specialties in Finance and Strategy.
Kyle has worked in the dental and medical field since 2005 consulting for practices, medical device companies, and groups of practitioners. He has used this knowledge to consult over 50 start-up companies and dental practices, as well as help build well over 100 dental and medical practices across the country. He has owned all or part of more than 20 practices and has been an investor in multiple DSO concepts.
Kyle created Professional Transition Strategies (formerly Headwaters Practice Consultants) to facilitate the sale of over 350 dental practices as a buyer’s representative, seller’s representative, or as a transaction broker. His M&A work has resulted in over $200M in total deal flow. His specialty is offering unique options to sellers allowing them to explore individual, group, and private equity investments to achieve the transition goals of his clients.
He and his family live in Colorado Springs where he enjoys golfing, skiing, and hunting as often as he can.
Chief Operating Officer
As the chief operating officer at Professional Transition Strategies, Rebecca Kilibarda is responsible for working directly with the president of PTS to develop business operations of the company. Her experience and leadership have been focused on developing and delivering result-driven business services, as well as providing unparalleled customer service and creative solutions. Rebecca has a consistent record of positioning practices for success and providing inventive options to allow the transitioning doctor to accomplish their objective.
As the architect of business strategy, Rebecca has helped lead the team to become one of the top 250 fastest-growing companies in the United States. Through her innovative marketing strategies, she has broadened outreach efforts for all listed practices to ensure an increase in offers and options for transitioning doctors.
Demonstrating both an entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial force, Rebecca has an innate ability to identify and actualize valuable ideas. Through her shrewd strategies to maximize organizational capabilities, operations and service offerings, she is able to not only deliver advantageous results for her clients, but also a structured and seamless process for the PTS team.
As a proud Oklahoman who relocated to Colorado, Rebecca can be found alongside her husband and two sons rooting for the OU Sooners and the Denver Broncos in the fall, skiing the Rocky Mountains in the winter, and fishing for Rainbow Trout in the spring and summer. She is also fluent in Spanish and has her real estate license.
Stanton is an experienced Lead Broker at PTS focusing on medical businesses brokerage with a background in the commercial real estate industry. He is skilled in negotiation, sales, risk management, sales management, and customer service. Stanton graduated from Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva, New York and is an avid outdoorsmen from Colorado who enjoys biking, skiing, alpine touring, and time with his wife and two kids.

Jennifer Sims, CPA
Business Valuation Specialist
Upon receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Baylor University, Jennifer obtained her license as a Certified Public Accountant.
After working in public accounting as an auditor of financial service companies, Jennifer transitioned her career to dentistry. She has been in the dental field since 2007 as a practice manager and accountant. The aspects of private dental practice that she enjoyed the most were developing the business and staff, and increasing the practice’s efficiency and productivity. Jennifer combines her in-depth knowledge of dentistry with her extensive accounting background to provide our clients with expert valuation services.
Jennifer and her family live in Colorado Springs. She enjoys being involved in her children’s activities, traveling, and attending as many sporting events as possible.
Kaile Vierstra has a long background in quality customer service, marketing and office management. She firmly believes that people do business with people they like- and is positive that you’ll like doing business with PTS.
Coming from a sports background, she is highly goal-oriented and applies this to her work with PTS. Often the first point of contact as the Executive Coordinator, Kaile strives to display company values and build relationships in every interaction- from sending basic documents to discussing potential practices. Kaile is excited to be part of the PTS team and to assist in making everything run smoothly to better help our clients.
Kaile graduated from Western Kentucky University- Go Tops!- and her love of racing and riding mountain bikes brought her to Colorado Springs. She has since fallen in love with the community and lack of humidity. When not in the office, you’ll find her in North Cheyenne Canon Park on her mountain bike, rock climbing or trying to tire her Rhodesian Ridgeback, Stratton.
Digital Marketing Specialist
Elise has dedicated her professional life to providing unique insight to organizations. Every practice has a story that needs to be told in a way that is perfectly illustrated in a manner that is true to their very own culture and services. Elise provides the necessary means to help business owners share information utilizing traditional and new age marketing strategies. She’s always had a knack for the marketing realm thus inspiring her to help business owners tell their story.
She is a proud Coloradan that has spent the past eight years living in the Lone Star State. Elise is an avid lover of all things athletic, a music aficionado, and possess an indubitable admiration for the outdoors. When she is not in the office you can find her gallivanting in the mountains. The great institution of Texas Christian University captured her heart, and she is a proud Horned Frog. Go Frogs!
Melissa Howard, MBA
Executive Placement Strategist
Melissa completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism at The University of Texas- Austin, and an MBA in Finance at the University of Houston. She has an extensive background related to the business of medicine, as she spent nearly 10 years at MD Anderson Cancer Center helping to grow and administer public health outreach programs and federal grant programs.
Stakeholder support is one of Melissa’s driving passions, and she finds joy in helping practitioners achieve goals in their practice, which translates into personal success for doctors who are able to transition their practice to the next level, whether that is a partnership, buy-out, or other option that fits their specific needs. She also truly enjoys the process of getting to know a doctor and their practice to help fully understand what the goals are and can be, and what mutual success looks like for each stakeholder involved.
Although she has left the great state of Texas, you can find her continually rooting for her Longhorn team and indoctrinating her son in the business of Texas football. She is a proud wife and mother who is excited for all of the opportunities working for PTS affords.
Practice Transition Consultant
Troy has nearly 20 years of experience in the dental industry. Recently, as a Field Sales Consultant, Business Development Specialist and then Regional Sales Manager for a large dental supplier in Texas and Colorado. He has experience in dental real estate and have enjoyed most his experience helping dentists transition their practice.
Prior to that, Troy worked as an Account Manager and Regional Sales Manager for another dental supply company for nearly 15 years. He developed several new territories and new markets which eventually allowed him to take on a leadership role where he was responsible for coaching and mentoring new Account Managers. This experience allowed Troy to routinely visit several hundred dental clients across different states where he quickly became passionate about the business side of dentistry and dedicated to partnering and helping the Field Sales Consultant and clientele succeed. His heart and passion has always been where he can be a valuable resource and where our clients can directly benefit from the services that we provide.
Troy graduated from the University of Evansville with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (Marketing and Finance). While at Evansville, he enjoyed a successful basketball career and played in the Division I NCAA tournament. In 2010, it was an honor for him to be selected to the illustrious Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame “Silver Anniversary Team”. Troy has been happily married for the last 22 years and blessed with three amazing children.

Brent Anderson had the opportunity to help lead the largest dental group on their M&A team buying offices all over the United States, now having been a part of over 300 practice transitions through my career.
Brent enjoys the relationship aspect of truly understanding what’s important to his clients and building a lifetime friendship with the people he helps navigate through exploring all the different transition options that are in the market. As Brent feels it’s important to have representation to make sure you make the right choice in your decision with your future partners as you typically will only have one chance at doing this with your dental practice.
With Brent’s experience on the buy side and his passion of truly wanting to do what’s best for his clients, this will be a winning receipt for his future success for his clients.
Dr. Dan Holsteen
Dr. Holsteen is a 1977 graduate of Louisiana State University and a 1982 graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry. Following his dental training in Kansas City, he completed a hospital residency program with the Veteran’s Administration in Topeka, Kansas, before moving to Colorado Springs to set up private practice. After 34+ years, Dr. Holsteen sold his practice in March of 2018. Now that he’s not in the dental office every day, Dr. Holsteen is spending more of his time traveling, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and perfecting his grandpa skills.
Kim has worked in dentistry for the last 30 years. She spent those early years managing and leading large dental practices. Kim eventually served as Director of Operations overseeing multiple dental practices and specialized in the pre and post-acquisition process, until forming her own company, True North Dental Solutions. At True North Kim focused on practice start-ups, practice management, and continued consulting through the pre and post-acquisition process. Kim went on to merge her company with the Avitus Group to start Avitus Dental Management Solutions, a full service dental consulting firm to include building a successful in-house virtual dental billing company.
Kim is a Certified Professional Business Coach and holds memberships with ADMC, DEN, and AADOM. Kim’s strengths are found in Leadership, Business Development, Business Transition, Startups, and Team Development.
Kim is married and has 2 grown children. She loves to run, hike and to spend time with family and friends, and a day is not complete without reading a good book! One of her greatest accomplishments is co-founding a non-profit with her husband, David, where they Educate, Encourage and Empower indigenous pastors and church leaders through a literacy program in Uganda, East Africa.
